Data Sourcing, Accuracy & Correction Policy
Last updated 13 July 2026
How Fylings sources company data, what we show, and how to get something fixed.
Where our data comes from
Every record on Fylings is built from official, verifiable sources: national company registries, procurement databases, trademark offices, and sanctions lists across our covered African markets. We do not accept user-submitted claims as fact, and we do not publish speculation. If a data point can't be traced to an official source, we don't show it as confirmed.
Each company profile displays the source and last-verified date for its core data, so you always know where a fact came from and how current it is.
What we show — and what we deliberately don't
Company registries are public by design, and that's the foundation of what we index: registration status, filing history, ownership structure, sector classification, and related public records like procurement contracts and trademarks.
We do not publish sensitive personal information about individuals beyond what is legally required to be part of the public company record (such as a director's name and role). We do not show personal contact details, dates of birth, home addresses, or other identifying information about individuals unless that information is itself part of an official public filing and legally required to be disclosed.
If you believe we're showing something about you or your business that goes beyond this standard, see "Request removal of personal information" below.
Data freshness
Company data changes — ownership shifts, businesses close, filings lag behind reality. We re-verify records against source registries on a regular cadence, and every profile shows a last verified date so you can judge freshness for yourself rather than take it on faith.
Request a correction
Found something wrong? Every company profile has a Report inaccurate data option. Tell us what's incorrect and, where possible, point us to the correct information or an official source.
Our commitment: every correction request is reviewed within 48 hours. If the fix requires re-checking an official register, we'll tell you that and give you a timeline. You'll get a response either way — not silence. You can also email hello@fylings.com with the page URL and the correction requested.
Request removal of personal information
If you believe personal information about you is displayed beyond what's legally required in the public record, you can request its removal directly. We take this seriously and will act on legitimate requests promptly, consistent with applicable data protection law in the relevant jurisdiction (including Nigeria's NDPR and equivalent frameworks in other markets we cover).
We aim to acknowledge removal requests within 48 hours and resolve them within 5 business days. Email hello@fylings.com with the page URL and the information you want removed.
Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, directly from your account — no calls, no retention forms, no charges after the cancellation date. You'll get an email confirming the cancellation the moment you submit it.
Questions or disputes
If you're not satisfied with how a correction or removal request was handled, you can escalate directly to our team at hello@fylings.com. We'd rather resolve it than have you leave it unresolved. See also our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
This policy reflects our commitment to being a source of accurate, accountable company intelligence for Africa's markets — not just a database, but one you can trust and correct when it's wrong. Governing law: Nigeria.
